Solution Focused Therapy and EMDR for men who hate asking for help in TX
You've always been good at figuring things out on your own.
You've always had the answers to your problems, and even if you didn’t, you knew that one way or another you would find a way to get it done.
Tenacious, stoic, and problem solver are words that best define you. You’ve taken pride in not needing other people’s help to achieve your life goals. And that’s probably why it hurts so much to be where you are right now.
Solving a problem you can't see but can't stop feeling is one of the worst things out there. You’ve tried being strong, you've tried distracting yourself, but you realize, the more you try the worse you feel. It's hard to focus and your relationships are taking a toll.
For the first time in your life the words “giving up” have crossed your mind. Trust me, there is a way to get through it, but it won't be alone.
You’ve developed a way of dealing with things that has kept you safe and helped you survive. As your therapist, I will help you make the invisible visible. Together, we will uncover the root of your behaviors and help you find out where these patterns are keeping you from feeling at peace. As you begin to learn more about yourself, we will progress into helping you develop habits that are more aligned with what you want for yourself so you can do more with life than just get by. You’ve gone too far to just get this far. Get started now so that you can make peace with your past and start looking forward to tomorrow.
Through gentle honesty and guided self compassion, I help make your problems “figureoutable” so that you can continue moving forward with your life and start spending time on the things that matter most to you.
Let's get honest here for a second, your way of doing things has gotten you this far. Take some time to be proud of that! But now that you’re facing a problem that you haven’t faced before, your way of doing things is the very thing that is holding you back.
Up until now everything has been very “figureoutable”. But as life got harder you noticed that your problems became less visible and more complicated, making it harder for you to come up with a solution for said problems.
You could ask for help, but somewhere along the way the world taught you that no one is coming to help and it's up to you to figure it out. That changes now.
As your therapist, my intention is to provide you a space free of judgement where you can discover and explore the parts of you that have long been neglected. I also hope to help you challenge some of your long-held beliefs that are holding you back from expressing yourself, so that you can begin to live as the truest and most authentic version of yourself.
I'm trained in Trauma-focused CBT and EMDR.
